What were you thinking
You try to tell me what to do
How I should be

Where did the audacity come from
What lead you to believe
You could control me
That you should even try

Shocked by your implication
That somehow you know better
How can someone know what is better
For only I know what is best for me

Who I choose to spend time with
Where I choose to focus my energy
When I wish to do the things I want
Laughable it is that you insinuate yourself
My life it must be lived by me for me

Pulling at my strings
Now you are pulling at your own hair
Not able to meet me in the freedom we used to share
Because you thought you knew best

No one owns me
Never has, never will
Impede my progress and get run over
Watch as I head out the door
