THROUGH THE FIRE

Running through it this time
This fire that surrounds
No more walking
No more burning beyond recognition
No more need to destroy all inside
Just to grow
Anew Again

Each new lesson
A chance to learn
Not burning in the flame
To see the light
Choosing the light over the darkness
This time not singed by only fear

A desire to become engulfed
In something I know is not
The path I now choose
Seeing all too well the real darkness
The lighted path is the one calling now
Even though the whispers of the dark remain

For today I choose to run
Through the fire as not to be
Burned by old desires
Ready to embrace the new
Desires, Yes they are many
Now illuminated beyond what once was
Only desire
