TIME FOR GOODBYE

Coming apart
They are in this moment in time
Trying to find a way
To capture what was lost
What once had been

Looking for a way out
Somehow trapped here
By their own desires gone awry
Now time is slipping away
Day becomes night too quickly

Dreams once held so close
Falling in on themselves
So little left to mend
To make whole again
So many moments slipped away

Somehow they are no longer familiar
They thought they once knew...the other
Now they are strangers
Wondering why they stay
Finding excuse after excuse nothing put at bay

Neglect takes its toll
When one forgets to nourish the roots
All that is left is barren land
No flowers are growing here anymore
What choices are left when the sun sets again

Senses dulled from neglect
So after today one will decide to move on
To go forward to find some meaning....again
Hearts wrenched more from continuing the lie
Time for goodbye was so long ago

Joy will once again come
Life will hold special meaning
Another's eyes will light up and shine
Touch will feel like it should
Love will find another pathway to their hearts
But only after they part
