PEEKING THROUGH

Drifting shadows coming to me
Remembering seeing what is to be
Changes coming about by choice
Knowing that I will not rest or cease
Fighting through the fear to release

Letting go of more than protection
Ultimately finding layers to sift through
A butterfly peeking through the cocoon
Wonderment of the what awaits to be
Once broken through from safety to see

A different world yet somehow familiar
Stepping onto new ground slowly surely
Surrounded by caring friends so true
Always they are there to see me through

Finding the key to unlock the chasm
No more power given to a memory
Eyes first seeing light opening wider
Breaking out of a shell to create allure
From the inside out and back again

Transformed by this journey so far
Finding a new avenue of expression
Changes blossoming forth now
This was the woman I always knew
Being led on a path so brand new
Finding real beauty shining so true
